Group therapy is a very powerful and effective process for working on life issues and improving relational skills in the supportive community of others--who are there for the same reason. If you are ready for it, group therapy is one of the most effective forms of therapy available. Groups are effective because this form of therapy has multiple resources provided by other members. The group becomes a microcosm of each member's social world--a sort of "real-time" laboratory. A participant is able to experience and investigate one's responses to events, experience other people's responses and experiment with new behavior with the help of the therapist and other members. I currently have two on-going therapy groups accepting new members. If you are interested in either of these groups, please contact me and I will be happy to answer your questions by phone and meet with you in person free of charge if you are still interested after our phone conversation. |
